BUSINESS IMPACT ANALYSIS

The purpose of a Business Impact Analysis (BIA) is to:

Serve as the basis for Business Continuity Plan & Recovery Steps.

Identify criticality of processes and to prioritize restoration of business functions and critical activities.

Identify critical functions, activities, and business priorities and their impacts to the organization should there be an interruption.

Map core/critical dependencies required to execute functions and activities.

Assign Maximum Tolerable Downtime (MTD) for the function with an associated Recovery Time Objective (RTO).

Document recovery strategies for all hazards.
